About Me

My name is Diane Serpa, but friends call me Dot. I’m a digital graphic designer with more than 20 years of experience. Through GreyCatDot Digital Design, I partner with small, green and/or local businesses to create effective marketing design in support of their goals.

The Fun Personal Stuff

Originally from Niagara Falls, N.Y. we moved to Arizona in 1976, so I have been in here for a long time.

Proper comic book and sci-fi/fantasy novel geek here. I collect nerdy toys and yes, I display them proudly.

I really enjoy meeting new people, in person and on social media. Making real connections fills up my energy tank.

Always excited to try interesting food and I love other cultures. The list of foods that I don’t like is a much shorter list than what I do like.

Advocate for all animals, domestic and wild. I lost Zelda, my grey and white cat, at age 21 in 2017 but that’s her in the logo. I had little black Smudge and Spatter, her special needs bobtail littermate til ages 18 and 19. Now, I have three older Trap-Neuter-Return ferals that are taking to civilization indoors.

Desert gardening, hiking and camping are great here in Autumn and Spring.

I’ll take dancing to new wave music over exercising, any day, though I do ride my lime green Electra Cruiser around Mesa a bit. Look for the watermelon helmet. My identical twin, a fine artist in Chandler, rides with me.

That about sums me up. Nice to meet you!

Testimonials

“…I was planning an LGBTQ youth prom, and I enlisted her help to create all of the graphic designs for promotional materials. To say Diane went above and beyond is such an understatement. I came to her with the vaguest idea of what I thought we needed, and she explained all the things we should do and why it was the best course in an easy to understand way… Moreover, her swift turnaround time and apt communication weren’t limited to just me; she took the time to come meet with my youth planning committee to guide them through the process of establishing a theme and style for everything to follow. Diane is a great asset to anyone in need of graphic design expertise and truly cares about delivering a product you will love.”
~ Rebecca Semik,
Student Organizing Events Coordinator,
GLSEN Phoenix

Diane worked for me at two different non profit organizations and in both cases, helped us create superb new designs for donor communications. I highly recommend her work and work style. She listens well, and provides choices along the way to the finished design.”

Philanthropy Consultant

We have been able to work with Diane on multiple design projects now, and she is the consummate professional. She has consistently delivered great work on time and on budget. Our clients love her work, she’s a joy to work with, and we will definitely continue to work with her.”
~ Krys Van Slyke, Vertical Measures

When I was creating my modeling and photography brand, I wanted to have a logo that stood out. Diane walked me through the design process, asking questions to help clarify the message of my brand. She created a logo that perfectly represents Chimera Creatrix. The rapid turn around time for the finished materials was great. Diane is a pleasure to work with and very professional.
